A drive on one of Europe's most beautiful mountain roads, with stops at Bâlea Lake, Bâlea waterfall and the Vidraru dam.
The Transfăgărășan climbs in tight bends into the heart of the Făgăraș Mountains, and much of the day is a scenic drive in itself.
Along the way you stop at the Vidraru dam and its lake, Bâlea waterfall and the glacial Bâlea Lake at the top of the road. Because of the distance, an early start is recommended.
